The speaker, Jonathan Evans, founder of www.KinectAir.com will talk about regional and rural air service
Jonathan began a career in aviation in 1997 when he enlisted in the U.S. Army and earned his private pilot’s license flying taildraggers off grass strips near Fort Knox, KY.
He was selected to become a Warrant Officer and helicopter pilot and flew UH60 Blackhawks until being honorably discharged in 2006.
As a civilian he flew helicopters and airplanes all over the West, including three years in Alaska, and settled in as a medevac pilot for Life Flight Network in Eugene, Oregon in 2010. While flying night shifts he attended the MBA program at the University of Oregon using the GI Bill.
Starting in the fall of 2012 he incubated a successful drone UTM operations management company called Skyward. After raising over $8M in venture capital, and driving the software company towards category-setting enterprise adoption.
Skyward was acquired by Verizon in February 2017. and Jonathan transitioned into a VP position at Verizon, leading Global Aviation Policy.
Jonathan founded KinectAir in October 2019 to connect FAA Part 135 operators with passengers by utilizing custom optimization software that Kinect Air believes will make regional flights in 4 to 8 pax aircraft affordable to the general public.
Bob Altemus (Alto) CAA member, former Marine and Navy helicopter pilot and HTS pilot and Port of Portland Operations Employee will discuss the lay of the land at KPDX and the impact that CORVID19 pandemic has had on air travel at Portland International Airport.
