February 2016 found CAA President Tim Gadler sitting at his computer with a bad case of plane envy.  His last plane was destroyed by hail.  He hadn’t flown in almost two years.  Then he saw it, on Ebay of all places.  It was a 1958 Beech J35 Bonanza no one wanted to take to the prom.  She didn’t show well.  She had paint flaking off the leading edges.  She had hanger rash and other assorted minor dings.  She was in bad need of a fashion makeover.   Dad talked about her like she was the best daughter you’d ever want to meet.  What she lacked in looks, she made up for in character, or at least that’s what dad said.  With the auction ending in an hour, Tim pointed and clicked.  Much to his, not to mention his wife’s surprise, he won.  Come for some incredulous wonder and good laughter when Tim Gadler and Tony Carson present this Thursday‘s CAA program, “Buying a Bonanza sight unseen over Ebay.”  His story details his purchase, conning Tony Carson into being his navigator, their adventure flight home, problems along the way and lessons learned.
