Vince Granato, Chief Operating Officer of the Port of Portland

Topic: PDX major expansion project and general aviation

As chief operating officer, Vince is responsible for the operation of our Portland International Airport, two general aviation airports (TTD & HIO) as well as all our marine terminals. He’s been in this position since February 2012.

Vince, a native of Portland, has been with the Port of Portland  for 30 years in various managerial and financial capacities. In his previous role as chief financial officer, he managed all of the Port’s financial activities and administrative areas such as risk management, internal audit, contracts and procurement, and research.

In his career, Vince has been involved in a number of national initiatives in the aviation industry including the Transportation Security Administration Baggage Screening Investment Study Group and various other projects for Airports Council International. He’s also a member of the Oregon State Aviation Board and the Oregon Sports Authority.

Vince grew up five miles from the airport and rode his bike there when younger. He roamed the concourses to see airplanes from the terminal building before there was such a thing as the Transportation Security Administration. He said he never thought he’d be working at PDX one day—let alone for 30 years.
