Events - Event View

You're invited to a Paint-by-Numbers painting brunch/party.  This is not your children's (or grandchildren's) paint-by-numbers.  This activity is for grown-ups (or adults, if you prefer).

While this event is directed to the spouses, partners and significant others of CAA Members, aka the "Right Seaters", all are welcome to sign up. 

Brunch will be provided by members of the Social Committee.  Mimosas, Pastries, Fruit platter, Casserole, and other beverages.

You'll need to buy a paint-by-numbers painting kit of your choice (available from the sources at the bottom of the invite)  We recommend buying online.  We're happy to help you with this if needed.
 
Important details

1	Allow 3 weeks for your online order to arrive - order your kit online no later than April 5th
2	Order a kit with the canvas already framed, or a stretched canvas.  Painting on a wrinkly, unstretched surface is challenging at best.  The wood frame will be invisible and you'll finish with something ready to hang or share.
3	We understand, and expect, that these may not be completed in one sitting.  We'll discuss this as a group on Sunday and get everyone's idea on whether to meet up again and when.
4	An art show of finished canvases is planned for the upcoming May 11 Flight Profile Dinner.
5	No Experience Needed!   (This will be a first-time for many of us since childhood)

NOTE:   
Most of the Social committee are choosing 16" x 20" Already Framed/stretched canvas to paint.  You may prefer a smaller size: select a mini 8" x 8" Already Framed canvas if you want to start small with this experience.  The 16" x 20" canvas may need more than one day to complete.
 
Keep in mind the number of colors in the kit will determine the 'resolution' of the result. Consider the picture you want to paint vs the realism you expect.  Most kits come with 24 colors, one source offers 36 or 48 colors.  The more colors, the longer it takes to paint, the more realistic the result, the higher the price for the kit.

Craftoria  average price $45  Kits are available in sizes 8" x 8" and 16" x 20"  and with options of 24, 36, and 48 colors - more colors means a more detailed painting.  More colors means longer to paint, as well, keep that in mind!   Search the site for 'Airplane' results in two kits, Airplane Lake Landing.

Locally,Michael's Craft Store is selling kits for an average of $15 unframed, cotton canvas sheets, includes two rods for hanging when done.  The selections are not impressive.
