Summer Aviation Weather in the Pacific Northwest with Noah Alviz of NOAA

Join us for a practical aviation weather presentation with Noah Alviz from NOAA/National Weather Service, focused on summer flying conditions in the Pacific Northwest.
Noah will cover common seasonal weather factors that affect pilots, including density altitude on hot days, marine stratus patterns, thunderstorms, wildfire smoke, thermals, and other regional aviation weather considerations. He will also walk through useful NWS aviation resources and the Aviation Weather Center website, helping pilots better understand the tools available for preflight planning and in-flight decision making.
The presentation may also include a brief look at the new Domestic Aviation Forecast System, DAFS, and how it may improve turbulence and icing forecasts, with a possible bonus discussion on the NOAA Hurricane Hunters if time allows.
This will be a timely and useful program for pilots, student pilots, and aviation enthusiasts as we head into the summer flying season.
